The Hacker's Tricks The hackers invented many tricks by which they gained access without permission. They created descriptive names for these tricks, names that were a merging of real world allegory with computer terminology. There was 'packet sniffing', 'session hijacking', 'address spoofing', 'denial of service', and even an 'Internet Worm'. All of these tricks became known generically as 'attacks'. On today's Internet, we have all of these attacks and much more. These create the need for a way to stop the wily hackers and their tricks.
