The Firewall Solution

A firewall is a way to prevent attacks from the Internet coming to your local network. It acts as a gatekeeper between the Internet and your network.

The firewall scrutinizes all the information travelling between your network and the Internet. It looks for the hacker's tricks and stops them when possible.

In this way, the firewall is like the security guard for a building. The security guard checks the identity and purpose of everyone who enters the building, and checks them out when they leave - keeping logs of everything. S/he denies access to those who do not have permission to enter.
