Token Ring (802.5)
In the 802.5 specification, Token Ring networks use a token-passing method similar to the token bus.
However, in the Token Ring method, all stations are either connected in a physical ring or in a physical star with a multiple access unit (MAU) as the central device.
Token Ring networks typically use twisted-pair cable and the transmission rates can be either 4 or 16 Mbps.
In the physical star configuration, the logical ring is implemented in the MAU.
