Video Transmission Requirements

Extensive bandwidth  is needed for  in the transmission of compressed or uncompressed video data. NTSC standard video signals require 209.5Mb/s  of bandwidth when  uncompressed by the MPEG 2 codec. Depending on the input format, when the video singal is compressed  it will require either I.5Mb/s for VHS transission, 5.0Mb/s for broadcast transmission and 7.0Mb/s  when the transmission is studio based.

In this VLAN the signal will operate on a store and forward mode. It will be configured with a point to point, unicast connnection.  There will be minimal concern for delay (latency) or framedroping (jitter).
