Facility Audit
Do the facility audit after the inventory audit but before the network is in service.
This audit tracks the location of all network devices.
Use the cut sheet you created during network installation. Put the facility audit information right on the cut sheet.
Once your entire network is documented in this fashion it is called a network map.
The facility audit is use to troubleshoot the network. In addition to the location of wires and computers, the facility audit will include the:
- MAC address for each node
- IP address for each node
- Distance of each cabling run
