Network Maintenance
Network monitoring is the most important function of a network administrator, yet most do not have a good network maintenance and monitoring strategy.
Network maintenance means auditing, documenting, analyzing, and monitoring the network on a continual basis.
Audits help define what is normal and what is not normal. The term baseline is used to describe normal status.
There are five different kinds of audits:
- Inventory
- Facility
- Operational
- Efficiency
- Security
