Surface-Mounted Cable Runs
You have several options when surface mounting cable.
- You can mount the cable directly to the wall.
- You can implement a decorative raceway to make the installation more aesthetically pleasing.
- You can use a gutter raceway.
You can mount cable to the wall if the area won’t be bumped or stretched. To do this, use tie wraps with adhesive backs or holes punched in them.
The tie wraps with adhesive backs cannot be easily moved if the cable must be relocated.
The tie wraps with holes can be unscrewed and repositioned as necessary. Never use a staple gun even though this has been done many times.
