Learning to Subnet Continued
This subnet mask will allow you to create six subnetworks and to place up to 30 hosts per network. The other subnet masks will either give you too few subnetworks or too few hosts.
The last masking digit (1) occupies the binary place of 32. To calculate the subnets, count by 32. Stop counting when you reach the value of the mask (224):
- 32 (binary 00100000)
- 64 (binary 01000000)
- 96 (binary 01100000)
- 128 (binary 10000000)
- 160 (binary 10100000)
- 192 (binary 11000000)
- 224 (binary 11100000)
