- Discuss the pros and cons of setting up a web server vs. using an ISP.
- Describe the changes you have made to your website and discuss why you made these changes. (Post this discussion to the bulletin board)
- Help your classmates by making suggestions that they could use to improve their website.
Homework
(Due before class on November 12, 2001) TThe following assignment is to introduce web servers.
- The following assignment is intended to introduce the installation of IIS. E-mail your answers to summers_wayne@ColumbusState.edu
- Install either IIS on NT or Win 2000 Server or PWS [hints for setting it up] on NT Workstation, Win 95, Win 98, or Win ME. [If you don't want to use Microsoft products, you may also select a different server from http://csc.ColumbusState.edu/summers/servers.htm
- Discuss what is needed to set up a web server?
- Write a brief description of what you did. Problems, etc.
- Continue the development of the website for the school you are mentoring. It should include enhanced multiple pages as determined by the school. It should include tables, lists, and whatever else is necessary.
