Configuring the Registers
Configuring the register allows you control boot functions such as:
- Forcing the user into the bootstrap program
- Enabling or disabling the console Break function
- Setting the console terminal baud rate
- Loading the IOS from ROM or a TFTP server
The show version command reveals how the registers are configured:
- 0x0000 means the system will boot into ROM Monitor mode
- 0x0001 means the system will boot into RXBoot mode
- 0x0002 means the system will check NVRAM for startup commands
