Connecting UTP to Wall Jack
The side of the RJ-45 jack that faces out from the wall has a female plug where the male connector of the workstation area cable (aka patch cable) connects.
The portion of the plug inside the wall is wired according to either the T568A or T568B specification.
Only strip back about one to two inches of the jacket. If you strip too much of the jacket, the connection may be degraded.
Be careful not to untwist the wire too much, Category 5 UTP allows for up to a half inch of untwisting and Category 4 UTP a full inch of untwisted wire.
