Connecting UTP to Wall Jack
The type of wall jack that is specified in the T568B (aka EIA/TIA 568B) standard for connecting Category 5 UTP is RJ-45.
The RJ-45 connector is similar in design to a standard (RJ-11) telephone jack, but it larger and has more pins (8) than a standard telephone jack (2 - 6 pins).
