Incoming/Outgoing Cable
All cable coming into or leaving any wiring closet should travel via four-inch conduits.
Depending on the number of connected end systems and devices the number of conduits necessary will vary.
When possible, the conduits should be kept within six inches of the wall.
An additional two conduits more than what is necessary for the existing cable should be added to allow for future expansion or reconfiguration.
The holes in the walls and ceilings where conduits enter the closet should be sealed with fire retarded materials that meet fire and safety codes.
