Catalog Description of Course: An continuation to the Gentle Introduction to the Internet. More exploring the Global Electonic SuperHighway and setting up an Internet site. (1 credit).

Course Prerequisite: Knowledge of Windows and the Internet. Students must have done a homepage.

1) Travel Guide to the Internet and handouts
2) Information available on the Internet

General Objectives


Specific Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, students should be able to:

Instructional Methods and Techniques
1) The class will meet for four two-hour periods each week. The first part will be lecture/demonstration and the second part will be hands-on lab.
2) The lectures and labs should be conducted using state-of-the-art multimedia techniques including a computer projection system.
3) The labs will stress hands-on applications by the students.

Assignments for Course
Assignments for students in the course will include:
1) Readings from the notes and explorations on the Internet
2) Experimentation Notebook detailing experiments with Internet
3) Presentation on what the student can do using the Internet

Evaluation
1) Experimentation electronic notebook ( 10 points each)
Students will electronically submit daily before 8 a.m. the next morning a discussion of their experiences with the Internet that day. This should include any thing you have read in the written press as well as any explorations you have made on the Internet.
2) Final Presentation (HTML documents) (30 points)

Students will design and submit for presentation their own personal HTML documents.
