MIS380 - Database Systems and Applications in Business is a required course for the Management Information Systems degree at NMHU. This course is an introduction to the designing, building and implementing of relational databases. The focus is on building databases that are representative of organizational entities. This is an excellent course for students who have had a brief introduction to using a microcomputer database and are ready design and build their own databases.

Course Requirements:
Prerequisites – Experience using a Microcomputer database like Microsoft Access, dBase IV, or Paradox.
Students must purchase the textbook, which includes a copy of the Salsa software and have access to a microcomputer database, preferably Microsoft Access 97.

This course will be delivered over the Internet. All lecture notes will be available on the World Wide Web (WWW). Assignments will be submitted as e-mail attachments. Students will be able to ask questions and receive answers via e-mail, WWW, chat rooms and net meetings.
