Slide 12. Benefits Of SVCs
SVCs can offer a more cost-effective solution for low volume, occasional connectivity requirements, particularly when the public service provider charges based on usage. This works similar to a voice call. Charges are only assessed for the duration of the call.
Some small office and telecommuter locations may not be able to initially cost justify PVCs to all locations to which they need connectivity because of low traffic volumes. These locations can start with SVCs and gradually migrate to PVCs as traffic volumes increase.
