Terminology Confusion

• TCP/IP is a Standards Architecture

  • Includes not only TCP and IP but also UDP, HTTP, and many other protocols
  • May not even use TCP (UDP instead) or IP (ARP instead, as discussed in Module A)

• TCP and IP are Individual Standards

  • Within the TCP/IP Architecture
