10BaseT
The most popular Ethernet specification is 10BaseT.
10BaseT networks are connected by twisted-pair cable that is capable of supporting 10 megabit per second (Mbps) transmissions using baseband (digital) signals.
The physical topology resembles a star as each host is connected to a hub.
Because this is Ethernet, the logical topology is a bus (CSMA/CD).
Because each segment terminates in the workstation and the hub, there is only one host per segment.
The minimum segment is length 2 meters and the maximum length of any segment is 100 meters.
