Tracking time spent on projects is essential, whether for logging the progress of a consulting project, capturing data for payroll, or satisfying contractual obligations as a government vendor. Tock allows employees on any platform, from any location, to quickly and efficiently record the time they've spent on tasks and generate valuable reports.

Users can customize their time-sheet entry screens and generate reports based on employee, group, and work category. Each entry captures date, duration, project, work category, and comments. Online help assists in the process. Administrative users can update sensitive information including user passwords, and employee and workgroup status.

User Profile
Workgroups and enterprises of any size that are engaged in hourly or project-oriented tasks, such as auditing, development, design, engineering, planning, and testing.

Of Interest to Developers

  • Netscape's LiveConnect technology enables real-time links of a Java-generated graph to input from the current HTML screen and the database.
  • Tock uses cookies to remember user log-on and password information to allow users to log on just once.
  • Easily customizable JavaScript and a graphing Java applet can be leveraged to add features and reports.
  • Report data is easily configured for export into spreadsheets, back-end databases, and other systems.
  • Report functions written as parameterized HTML make it easy to add and alter report features.
  • Access-restriction parameters can be altered to create multilevel access for team members, project managers, accounting, and system administration.
  • Installation instructions and additional details are included with the download.

Tock's report screen illustrates the application's friendly interface. To generate reports based on data entered by employees, a manager simply selects a date range, chooses either a summary or detail report, and specifies the parameter by employee, group, project, or type of work.
