The information you need as a prospective student depends on the type of applicant that you are. Information as to admission requirements, procedures, answers to frequently asked questions, and how to contact the appropriate office(s) to assist you is listed below.
NEW FRESHMEN
If you are, or soon will be, a high school graduate and/or have never attended college before, apply as an entering freshman. If you have taken any college coursework, then you should apply as a transfer student.
TRANSFER STUDENTS
If you have attended a college or university after you graduated from high school, apply as a transfer student. You should apply as a transfer student even if you attempted but never successfully completed any college coursework or if your credits will not transfer.
GRADUATE ADMISSION
If you have at least a bachelor's degree, or the equivalent, from an accredited college or university and wish to pursue a master's degree, apply as a graduate student.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT
If you are not a U.S. citizen or do not have a U.S. Permanent Visa (i.e., "Green Card"), you should apply as an International Student. An applicant as an International Student may be an Entering Freshman, Transfer Student and/or Graduate Student.
EARLY ADMISSION
If you are a High School Senior and wish to attend NMHU, you should apply to the University as early as possible.
NON-DEGREE STUDENT
If you would like to enroll in courses at NMHU for personal growth and are not interested in receiving credit for the courses, you should apply as a Non-Degree Student. If you are a student at another college or university and wish to take courses at NMHU for transfer, you should apply as a Non-Degree Student.
