- To set up a simple spreadsheet using

Method:
1) Reread the first part of chapter 6.
2) Select the Excel icon.
3) Briefly explore the Excel Application: Windows,
menus, toolbars, moving around the page.
4) Designing a spreadsheet:
- Specify the purpose
- Design and build
- Test
- Document

Labels
- Put 1995 Budget in cell B1
- Put Jan, Feb, Mar,Apr in cells B3-E3
- Put Sales, Expenses, Income in cells
A5-A7
- Put Total in cell F3
Values
- Put 1000 in cell B5 and 800 in cell B6
Formula
- Put +B5*1.01 in cell C5
- Put +B5-B6 in cell B7
Copying Formula
- Copy cell C5 to C6
- Copy cells C5 and C6 to D5,D6, E5 and E6
- Copy cell B7 to C7..E7
Functions
- type @sum(b5.e5) into cell F7
- copy cell F7 to F8 and F9
6) Save and print the spreadsheet as bud-95
on your disk
Exercise: 1) Using the worksheet described
on page 126-7 in the textbook, design a spreadsheet for your personal
budget and design a pie-chart (page 131).
