Lab 7: Exploring the Internet

Objectives:

1. To further understand what is the Internet
2. Be able to use Netscape to explore the Internet.

Method:

1. Read the attached handouts on the Internet before class, especially the section on Netiquette.
2. Select the Netscape icon.
3. Briefly explore some of the Internet using Netscape.

4. Using my site(http://csc.ColumbusState.edu/summers) or Yahoo's(http://www.yahoo.com) to do the following exercises.

Exercises:

1. What computer games are reviewed in this week's Intech from the Star Newspaper in Malaysia? (Hint: Start at my home page)
2. What does the White Rabbit say to Alice at the beginning of Alice in Wonderland? (Hint: this would be found in literature.)
3. Some of you may soon be looking for a job after graduation. Find a WWW source that can help you in making this decision.
4. E-mail me the results of your searches as well as the addresses of the sites where you found the information.
