Computer Forensics
- Understanding and knowing file formats for various programs and OSs is so important for computer forensics analysis. People are always trying to hide data by changing extensions, by changing formats, and by changing attributes. However, analysts must combat this by understanding formats for various systems and how they work. This is a website designed for programmers to be a resource for "everything formats."
- sleuthkit.org is the official website for The Sleuth Kit and The Autopsy Forensic Browser. Both are open source file system digital forensics tools from Brian Carrier that run on Unix systems (such as Linux, OS X, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, and Solaris) and analyze NTFS, FAT, UFS, EXT2FS, and EXT3FS file systems. The Sleuth Kit was previously called The @stake Sleuth Kit (TASK).
