Catalog Description of Course: The implementation and presentation phase of an
integrated senior-year course that combines each student's previous coursework into a
complete system design project. (3 credits).
Course Prerequisite: CS481 - Senior Project Design.
Required Textbook: none
Objective
To provide students with an opportunity to bring together everything they have
learned in solving a major computer systems project.
Instructional Methods and Techniques
1) The student will meet periodically with the instructor to ensure that the project is
on schedule.
Assignments for Course
1) An outline of the project including a detailed timeline with significant milestones
delineated must be submitted no later than the end of the second week of class
(Sept. 1, 1995).
2) Weekly progress reports are due by the end of each week. These need not be
extensive and can be submitted by E-mail.
3) Monthly progress reports due by the end of September, October and November.
These must be submitted in person and discussed with the instructor. An updated
timeline is due with this report.
4) Final presentation which will include both written documentation as well as an oral
presentation.
Evaluation
Evaluation will be based upon the final presentation. Possible grades are:
S - Satisfactory; indicates satisfactory completion of the course requirements.
PR - Progress; indicates acceptable progress has been made.
NP - No Progress; indicates that acceptable progress has not been made.
