Global Configuration Mode

• There are several configuration modes that are accessible only through the Privileged EXEC mode.

• Typing config t at the enable mode prompt accesses the basic configuration mode, called global configuration mode.

• The prompt for global configuration mode is router(config)#.

• At this prompt, changes that affect the entire router are made, thus the term global.
