Ceiling and Floor Runs
Running cable along the ceiling or floor is typically a straightforward process. The cable is usually placed into a gutter or secured with tie wraps and then placed into the floor or ceiling.
Velcro tie wraps are excellent for organizing cable runs because these wraps can be easily readjusted to accommodate more or less cabling.
Here are some items to keep in mind:
- Avoid running cable too close to machinery.
- Do not lay cable on a dropped (or false) ceiling.
- Do not lay cable on fluorescent lighting.
- Do not bend cable more than 90 degrees.
- Use fire rated cabling.
