Working with Routing Protocols
When multiple routers exist on a network, they must be able to share routing information.
Routing protocols provide a means for routers to share information because they allow routers to share and update each other’s routing tables.
You must memorize the difference between routed protocols and routing protocols.
Routed protocols carry data between hosts. Routed protocols include IP, ARP, and RARP.
Routing protocols do not transmit normal network traffic. They only carry routing table information. Routing protocols exist so that routed protocols can be routed.
