ARP Frame Continued
The source computer extracts the MAC address from the ARP reply and updates its ARP table.
The source computer creates and properly addresses its data packet and sends it to the destination computer.
This is how ARP facilitates data transmission on a TCP/IP network.
Recipients of the ARP request that eventually discard the packet because the MAC doesn’t match, enter the source computer’s MAC and IP addresses from the ARP request packet into their local ARP tables.
