TCP/IP Layers
Application layer
- The Application layer in the TCP/IP model maps to the OSI Application, Presentation, and Session layers. The layer defines the functionality of the upper-layers, which are often grouped together.
Transport layer
- The Transport layer in both models determines the connectionless or connection-oriented services. The two main protocols to memorize at this layer are TCP and UDP. TCP is connection-oriented, and UDP is connectionless.
