Brouters
A brouter is a type of hybrid device that functions as both a bridge for non-routable protocols and as a router for routable protocols.
Memorize the most frequently mentioned non-routable protocols which are NetBeui, DLC, and LAT.
Most other protocols are routable, most notably TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, and Apple-based protocols.
Many bridges and routers on the market today actually function as brouters.
