Administrative Distance Continued

• Cisco routers will use the route with the lowest administrative distance.

• If no administrative distance is manually configured, the router assumes these administrative distances:

  • Connected interface 0
  • Static route 1
  • EIGRP 90
  • IGRP 100
  • OSPF 110
  • RIP 120
  • Unknown 255

• As illustrated in the previous section, you can add an administrative distance to the end of an ip route command.
