Methodology
There are certain steps to follow when troubleshooting a network. Some of these steps include:
- Collect as much info as possible
- Note environmental conditions including heat, humidity, EMI/RFI
- Find out what the user did, make sure this is not user error
- Use the baseline measurements
- Use the network map
- List, prioritize, and examine possible causes
- Go from basic to more complex
- Use management tools
- Use replacement
