The wiring room must be large enough to accommodate the wiring, patch panel(s), and other devices that might be added to support the network media.
Often, network administrators use distribution racks to support networking equipment. These racks should have a 12 to 18 inches of clearance behind them, so that they may be physically accessed without relocation.
When possible, use a 22-inch floor plate to mount the rack because it provides stability while maintaining enough distance from the wall for physically accessing the equipment.
