How to Present the Project

To the Class?

What we wanted to do was to show the class how this technology works, and show that we got a server (z28) and two clients successfully connected. Then the problem of IP's hit us. The PC in the advanced computer lab was on the 192 class of IP's, the other client was on the 204-107, and the server was on the 204-108 class of IP's. This caused a problem because since our server was only made for a small amount of time, it could not be put on the DNS table of servers. This table lets your server be seen by the "outside world" and our clients couldn't see our server. So what we did was put the server and one client on some borrowed IP's from CNS that fell in the 192 class. Since all the PC's were now all on the same IP class, they could all see each other on the local network. They were all able to connect to each other via the server.

So now all the pieces falling in place, all we had to do was put the presentation together and do the demonstration. We made a presentation on power point and took a full size PC in to the classroom. We gave our slide show and one of use ran to the advanced computing lab, sat at the PC and gave the demonstration with one camera on us and the other on the class to have an interactive demo.

Though the entire time of running back and fourth we think it turned out OK. Thanks every one for being there.
