Media — Different users prefer different mixes of the various media in an interface
Assistance — The degree of program-provided assistance required by a user in order to respond appropriately varies according to the user's experience with the subject matter and with the particular program
Special needs — Users with special needs or disabilities may require special modifications to the interface
Appropriateness — The choice of examples should be tailored to the background and needs of the users; if the users are widely varied, a range of examples should be provided
