CS459/559 - Network Security - Week 10 Assignment

(Homework must be submitted electronically to summers_wayne@ColumbusState.edu or hand delivered to my mailbox by noon MST Thursday each week.) Due April 8th

1. Encryption plays an important role in securing communications over a VPN. Discuss the different types of encryption used for VPNs. At what layer of the OSI model will you find these different types of encryption. [You might want to look on some of the links from the notes page for VPNs.

2. Participate in the Collabra discussion group (CS459 on the server cs.nmhu.edu). Discuss IPSEC. What is it? How important is it? Where is it being implemented? etc.
