Illness of Ilussion

Illness of Illusion is a single player RPG where the main character is suffering a severe case of illusion that launches him into a fantasy world of his own imagining where the character must find a way to return to reality by facing his greatest enemy, himself.

In the beginning of the game players will be able to create a character that suits their taste by either choosing an already made character model or by creating their own character. The character creation process the distribution of points for the characters stats. There are no distinct classes that the player chooses, but rather an informal design that allows the player to play their character as they choose. After the distribution of stat points the player chooses some special skills for their character and a starting set of equipment that is either pre-made or constructed by the player. If the player wants to choose all of their starting equipment manually they will be allotted some money and given a list of available items that they can buy. Once the creation process is complete the player will begin their first quest into the world.

The progression of the game occurs through the main character’s eventual realization that the world he travels is nothing but an illusion. This doesn’t make the character’s situation less real however. Somehow the main character is trapped in this world and it is the player’s job to lead the main character back to reality. There will be of course various obstacles including the average monsters anyone might think to find in an RPG, but there will also be some more devious characters who pose the greatest threat to the player. The main antagonists will be characters who represent key parts to the main character’s personality and fighting such representations has a clear affect on the protagonist as the story progresses.

Interaction between characters will also be an important part of the game, one that allows the player to discover key events, quests, and other useful information as well as the ability to buy and sell weapons, armor, and items. During the game, the player will also have the ability to save their progress, in case one sitting just won’t do. Illness of Illusion will also offer a wide variety of weapons that the player may acquire and equip. Each weapon will also allow the player different abilities based on which weapon is equipped. Another feature of this RPG will be its leveling system, which not only raises the character’s status points, but also levels the ability to use certain weapons and abilities based on the use of those weapons and abilities.

This is game is intended for fantasy RPG gamers who enjoy an interesting story along with there play. Anyone who has played an RPG will immediately latch on to many of the concepts of play which will help ease the learning process. The platform of this game will be for Windows XP and will consist of a text based front end for the user.
