Resources for the K-12 Classroom

What can educators do with the Net? Let's consider the following as a first draft list of ways educators might use the Net:

1) To support communication:
-with fellow educators with whom they have had some personal contact;
-with fellow educators in on-line dicussions;
-with professional organizations
-between students and teachers or student to student.

2) As a resource for materials:
-pictures and graphics;
-data;
-news, experimental results, interviews.

3) For lesson plans, curriculum guides, and classroom support.

4) To assist students in their search for the most appropriate post-secondary education and financial support

This page contains listing of various educational sites useful for educators. At the top level it is broken up per these four uses. As together we explore how best to use the net as educators, perhaps a better structure will emerge. That too is part of the Net - an ever changing, collaborative atmosphere. Those interested in a more expanded discussion of uses of the net in the classroom might want to read some of my thoughts on the subject.
